6 reasons to join the Female Leadership Academy
Even in one of the (seemingly) most equal countries, Denmark, there is still huge gender inequality in management. In fact, according to some sources, only 7% of top management in the largest 1200 danish companies are women. While we know the competent female leaders are out there, there are various reasons why women are continuously passed by in promotion rounds. Nepotism, stereotypes, favoritism etc. are some reasons, however, to achieve gender balance in the top management offices, there are several things women can do themselves to drive this change. One of these ways is to join a leadership academy, and below we list 6 reasons this can help you on your career track.

In the FLA, we have an overarching goal of preparing you in the best possible way to tackle the challenges approaching in the beginning of your career. Talks, discussions and concrete material to reach these goals is all part of the academy.

In the academy, 6 strong leaders are invited to share their stories of when they took their first position as a leader. “I was tremendously nervous meeting a CEO from a big danish firm. By instinct, I poured coffee for him and the others in the room, while small talking. The CEO thanked me, while asking me about the Mayor and when he would arrive. I panicked and my face turned red as a lobster - I felt so stupid. I realise now, however, that it was not me who was stupid. 3. Network with ambitious, like-minded peers
There are 30 people joining the academy, meaning that you will have the opportunity of building your network with ambitious students from different universities. From group talks and networking sessions you will be sure to get valuable contacts for the future, and some great friends.

In FLA you are sure to meet people from many different industries. We have invited consulting representatives, professional speakers, start-up’pers, government executives and many more. Apart from the talks and discussions, you will also participate in different workshops. One of these is to best suit you for the job application process, where you will learn specific techniques to make your CV stand out in the crowd.

When you complete the academy, you will be invited to join the FLA Alumni network, sparking the possibility for you to join social events and meet people from previous academy semesters.
